After countless delays and date changes Fabolous and DJ Drama connect for Fab's new mixtape for the streets entitled "There is No Competition 2: Funeral Service" The mixtape features Fab over some of the toughest beats OWt right now claiming that the competition is now dead! So its only proper that we all get on our "All Black Everything" for the service. The tape features other artists paying their respects such as Willie the Kid, L.A. the Darkman, Nicki Minaj, Paul Cain, Trey Songz, Lloyd Banks, Juelz Santana, among others. Now no DJ Drama mixtape is complete without the infamous DJ Drama shit talking claiming he is killing niggas so no longer refer to him as Barack ODrama but his new moniker is Dram McCain!
Fab begins at the Wake using his slick delivery and plethora of metaphors to pay his respects before the funeral. He continues on to show his skills as a gutter MC from NY with the tracks "Raw", "Body Ya", "Hard" over the Rihanna instrumental, and "Its going down".
Fab ravishes established beats such as the Clipse's "Popular Demand" Timbaland's "Say Somethin" Young Money's "Roger That" and Drake's "For this Town". Fabolous aka Funeral Fab is known for his up north flow and lyricism but taking that he buries some premiere dirty south tracks such as Travis Porter's "All the way Turnt Up" with help from Trey Songz, Gucci's "Lemonade" with assistance from Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy's "Mr. 17.5" and Waka Flocka's southern hit "Oh Lets Do It."
Heading back up north Fab blesses a street banger as he lends his verse to Lloyd Banks' "Beamer Benz or Bentley" along with Juelz Santana. Fab brings along some of the artists close to him such as Freck Billionaire, Paul Cain, Kobe, and Aphilliates artists L.A. the Darkman and Willie the Kid. These guys compliment Fab's sound on tracks such as "Roger That" "Hard" and "Its going Down" but tend to take away from the main reason many of you are listening to this mixtape!
Fab concludes this event with tracks "Funeral Service Music" with a sound reminiscent of an Italian Mob Boss meeting, "Bring Death to Em" a lyrical slaughter, Fab claims "...dis the flow that put niggas on they death bed..." and continues on to throw the final blow to all the doubters! And in a jacking for beats fashion the last track is "Exhibit F" from Jay Electronica where Fab weeps for the death of the competition!
This mixtape covers all bases and leaves you with no doubt that Fabolous is back and wont be denied anything than greatness. All and all this mixtape deserves a 10/10 for lyrical content, beat selection, collaborative success, and overall execution.
